I have that fabric! It’s really lovely stuff to wear, but be super careful when you are pressing, especially around the seams, they tend to show up quite a lot when you iron over them. If I were you, go with something you know, the blue blazer is lovely!

I’d stick with the pattern you know and adapt it how you want for the trousers, but make the blue jacket on Oona’s recommendation and to keep your creative bugs happy.

Happy New Year Gina! I just want to say how happy I am to of spent the year sewing along with you and the other talented ladies over at SW. You are all so inspiring and supportive. Hi Gina – I’m catching up on a month (OK, maybe two) of blog reading and read you contribution. What a great and brave essay. I’ve struggled with some anxiety issues over the years, but nothing that a little group therapy and the occasional figurative slap to the face couldn’t solve. I actually had a panic attack on Christmas eve; long story, but I’ve learned to push through it and come out the other side much stronger, just like you wrote about. Thanks, and keep writing!

This is not odd. It’s perfectly reasonable. Everyone has this reaction to Tim Gunn. PR was on when my hubby walked in the room one day and he immediately said that he really liked TG and couldn’t really put his finger on why. He is magnetic.

I’m totally the same about Tim Gunn, he seems a man with such wit, gentleness and genuine empathy/care for people. A real gentleman….he’s the best thing about Project Runway and my favourite episodes are the ones where he visits the finalists in their own homes. I have his “A Guide To Quality, Taste & Style” and love it. I have his “Fashion Bible” on my Christmas list already. It looks a fascinating book.
